Welcome to Chace Street School
Dear Parents/Guardians,
With the end of March, April has arrived; with it, our annual MCAS testing is scheduled for the next few weeks. We recommend that all students get to bed early on nights prior to testing and get a great breakfast on those mornings to prepare for their assessments, and should remember that while we want every student to do their best, we understand the stress that some will feel heading into these days. We want each and every one of our students to remember that this is just a snapshot of where they are academically, and this test doesn't define them.
The weather has not been as cooperative as it could have been over the past few months, but with April, we've finally turned the corner into full New England spring. In fact, we're in the final third of the school year!
With that being said, there are still cold mornings (and even chilly days!), and we still have some students not wearing jackets as they come to or leave school. If this is a monetary issue, please speak with our school adjustment counselor, Mrs. Palumbo; all assistance will be kept confidential.
On the last Friday of each month, we have our monthly "Hat Day." These days are an opportunity for students to highlight their personality and creativity. Many students contribute $1 (or any amount, some don't donate any money - this is not a requirement to participate!), and the money collected is donated to a worthy cause. All hats worn must not obstruct student faces.
We are continuing our Principal's Attendance Challenge; students with the highest attendance rate are recognized throughout the year for their drive and presence, and various pop-up events will take place randomly.
